Work OpporTUNITY Tax credit
WOTC is a federal tax credit that encourages employers to hire workers from targeted groups. The tax credit is designed to help job seekers gain on-the-job experience, move towards economic self-sufficiency and help reduce employer’s federal tax liability.

How Much Is the Tax Credit?
The tax credit taken into account for hiring qualified disabled veterans is $12,000 for first-year wages. The tax credit for hiring long-term Family Assistance recipients is applicable to 40 percent of first $10,000 of wages in year one and 50 percent of first $10,000 of wages in year two.

The tax credit for hiring other target groups, except summer youth employees, is up to $2,400 for each new hire: 40 percent of qualified first year wages for those employed 400 or more hours; 25 percent for those employed at least 120 hours (but less than 400). Qualified wages are capped at $6,000. Summer youth wages are capped at $3,000.

Veteran Services
Disabled Veterans Outreach Program (DVOP) and Local Veterans Employment Representatives (LVER) staff, through outreach with employers, develop increased hiring opportunities within the local workforce by raising the awareness of employers of the availability and the benefit of hiring veterans.
To meet the specific needs of veterans, particularly veterans with barriers to employment, the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services utilizes DVOP and LVER staff who are thoroughly familiar with the full range of job development services and training programs available at the State Workforce Agency One-Stop Career Centers, Department of Veterans Affairs Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program locations.

Virtual Job Fairs
Arkansas Virtual Job Fair (VJF) is an innovative way of providing opportunities for employers and job seekers to connect while allowing for the safety of all as we deal with COVID-19. As an online event, Employers and Job Seekers meet in a virtual environment and use various tools such as: chat rooms, webcasts, training/workshop videos, webinars and employer online hiring sites. Utilizing a VJF eliminates geographical barriers and enables more accessibility to the event for the job seekers and employers (citizens can connect at any location with internet, without transportation and distance issues). Getting a Virtual Job Fair going is easy.
Work Experience (WE)
This service is a planned, structured learning experience that takes place in a workplace for a limited period of time.  The purpose of work experience is to gain new job skills and valuable experience which will lead to full time employment.
